What to expect During your photo seSsion
A resurrection shoot is not a photoshoot. It is a healing experience. I have created a unique journey to help you uncover parts of yourself that have been hidden and rediscover your power strength and beauty in an artistic way.
First I will send you a questionnaire to find out more of your story. Knowing your specific life experiences that lead you to who you are today is crucial for my process as an artist. I am creating a visual representation of your life in your images so it’s imperative that I spend time learning who you are and what your intention is with our time together.
Next we do a call and go over your answers to your questions. Feel free to share whatever you’re comfortable with, everything is 100 percent confidential. I like to get to know you before the actual shoot because I feel it helps you relax more in front of the camera when we have an established connection.
Then we do our photoshoot. It’s 2 hours in a secluded location of your choice in nature. Some popular places include the beach, Escondido Creek, and Lake San Marcos. These places are relatively private however they are still public so there may be people that occasionally walk by. I bring a blanket with me and can toss it to you if someone happens to get close.
Lastly we do a zoom call to go over your images and choose your favorite to place your print or album order. All the images you purchase come with digital copies.
I highly recommend creating a photo memoir book. These are keepsakes that will last through the generations. I will send your journal prompts after we shoot together and gather your responses and any favorite quotes you would like to include. You can also do a writing workshop with my sister who is a professional copywriter and editor of you need more assistance telling your story. These memoirs serve as anchors to return back to when you need to remember how strong, beautiful, and powerful you are. When I made mine it arrived the day after I ended a relationship I was in and it was incredibly powerful to look through the pages and see how much I had overcome. It reassured by aching heart that I would rise again, as I did in the past over and over again.
I feel it’s crucial to print photos rather than just have digital versions. Digital files are easily lost and make it harder to look back and reflect on the images if they are stored on unreliable devices. These albums are printed on archival paper that will last forever. They are much higher quality than what you would get printed at Costco or Target. I use professional printers that are experts at color matching and quality. They albums are works of art themselves!
Then if you want to stay connected after we share this intimate experience I have created an online community called “She’s Dancing Again” of other women like you who are seeking ore freedom and self love through creativity. We have monthly zoom calls, writing prompts, self portrait tutorials and an online forum to share our process and connect. If you’re interested we open it once a quarter to join, send me an email to get on the waitlist.
